Siouxland Distrit Health Department (SDHD) was awarded five-year accreditation status through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) on March 17, 2020.  This milestone accomplishment was official recognition that our heatlh department meets the rigourous standards of PHAB, which works to improve and protect the health of the public by advancing and transforming the quality and performance of govermental public health agencies in the U.S. and abroad. 

Accreditation means that SDHD is committed to continuous quality improvement so that we can meet our community's needs as effectively as possible.  Woodbury County's future depends on buildiing a strong healthy community where people want to live, work and raise their families.  Accreditation is an investment that ensures SDHD is doing all that we can to improve the quality of life of the people we serve. 

PHAB's national accreditation program fosters our committment to accountability, transparency, quality improvement, performance management, and the capactiy to deliver the Ten Essential Public Health Services.  Committed to achieving the highest standards of public health practice, SDHD has also demonstrated a consistent and continued committment to strengthening community partnerships, which in turn enables us to better serve our community.
