Tips to Prevent dental problems. Brush teeth two times per day with soft bristle toothbrush and a fluoride toothpaste. Floss 1 time per day with dental floss. Eat fruits and veggies, limit sugary snacks and beverages. Apply fluoride to teeth two to four times a year. Sealants protect chewing surfaces of teeth. Dental visits should start before the age of 1. Visit the dentist regularly, every 6 months.
